E-44 | Radiation Exposure During Distal and Traditional Radial Approach: A Meta-Analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials

Distal transradial approach (dTRA) is safe and effective for coronary angiography PCI. However, its impact on radiation exposure in the catheterization laboratory has not been characterized. We performed a systematic review meta-analysis of scientific literature by searching PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library databases with relevant terms until October 13, 2022. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) comparing dTRA traditional radial (TRA) were selected. The primary outcome was (fluoroscopy time, air kerma, or kerma dose product). standard mean difference (SMD) 95% confidence interval [95% CI] used continuous variables analysis. A random effect meta-regression analyses. Of 484 studies identified, we obtained data from 7 RCTs total 3427 patients (1712 group 1715 TRA). There no regarding fluoroscopy time between two groups. overall estimate favored lower area product TRA (figure). Meta-regression showed correlation year publication (p=0.82). associated an increase product, but differences compared to TRA.
